FAU Baseball's Mike McKenna Named All-America Outfielder by Rivals.com
June 10, 2008
BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University standout Mike McKenna was named an All-America outfielder by Rivals.com, one of the web's most respected sources for the latest news and information on college baseball. One of just six players at his position to receive the national honor, McKenna firmly established himself as one of the premier outfielders in the country after an outstanding season in which he hit 16 home runs and totaled 75 RBIs in 60 games. It is the second All-America honor bestowed on McKenna, who was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft on Friday, June 6. Collegiate Baseball selected McKenna among its list of All-Americans last week. The senior from Staten Island, New York finished his FAU career as one of the most accomplished players in university history. The 2008 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, McKenna set FAU program records in RBI (185) and total bases (436) during an outstanding four-year playing career in Boca Raton.
